About me:

I was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and grew up in Bradenton, Florida. A college recruiter from New York’s Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising came to my high school, and I thought, yes, sewing would be an interesting thing to learn. I was accepted to the Art Institute of Illinois - Chicago, but two months before the move, San Francisco called out to me and I followed. I graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree of Science in Fashion Design. My first job was the production and event coordinator for Stormy Leather, a high-end corsetry and leather goods shop. I also worked at Freight Baggage for a minute, a titan in the world of bike messenger bags. Years later I fabricated a truck into a 20-foot Jellyfish to drive around Burning Man. I like to make things.

The third oldest profession

The same week I graduated college in 2008, I started working at Lalita’s Excotic Thai. It was my first bar job. I was terrible, yet personable. I fell in love with working in the service industry, and I’m good at it, really good at it. Since then I have worked in over a dozen bars and restaurants all over the country. Oyster bars and tiki huts in Florida, Sushi houses and tequila bars in Chicago, large venues, intimate weddings, giant festivals, and Joe’s Crab Shack. I drove around the country for two years, working whenever I needed the funds. Every small town has a tavern. I can always find work behind a bar. I love that part of my life, I can set the mood, create the atmosphere, I make a night special for people. I love to host. I like to bring people together and make memories.
